I’m back from following the JYP Tour from Coast-to-Coast and, wow, I’ve been missing some drama on Ningin!

I’ve read all your comments. First, I understand Team Platinum Heart’s disappointment about not dancing all together on stage with Wonder Girls. I was at the LA show (actually I was at all the shows!) and I know that there was a lot of confusion backstage. I know PH didn’t get to meet 2pm and JYP, but I assure you it was not intentional. In order to make up for it, PH got to hang with WG three times backstage — including in the dressing room with WG while JYP was on stage. It was the best that could be done under the circumstances. In the end, JYP Ent had to put on a show for thousands of people and that had to take priority number one. More »

Pointing and laughing at crowds of fan girls and boys hoping to get a glimpse of their favorite JYP Tour performer and/or occassional chain-smoking back-up dancer? Guilty as charged. Worry not, JYP fans. Last night in my native land Orange County, I was sentenced to two and a half hours of fanatical screaming in my ear! Though the Wiltern is a historic LA landmark (one of the last-standing art deco buildings) and is the home to some of the best concerts you can catch on the West Coast, it’s a mid-sized venue that’s not really conducive to a barrage of million-member pop groups. Amazingly enough, JYP and co. still managed to do their thing on the relatively small stage. For the most part, everyone knew the dance moves and did them well. So we were looking for something original and creative. But this is a dance contest. So the most important thing was the dancing which had to be crisp, sharp, and in the case of groups, in synced. We favored videos with less editing because it’s harder to dance straight throughout the video without stopping. Still this left quite a few videos to only select 10 best. So then we looked for creativity and something different that distinguished the videos from each other. More »

While we’re waiting for parental consent forms from a couple of entries for the Dance Contest before we can announce the top 10, you’ll be happy to know that Ningin will be doing a video interview with the Wonder Girls sometime after they finish the NYC concert. The interview will be entirely in English so we’ll get a chance to see how much they improved since the last time Ningin interviewed them back in September at the NYC Chuseok festival. More »

Wonder Girls just finished their Myspace page. We know this because Ningin just finished designing it for them. It’s not something we normally do, nor do we especially like doing Myspace layouts in general. But JYP asked and we just couldn’t say no. So if you have a Myspace account, go friend them!

I think we can all say it’s been a good week? I’m glad so many people have entered the Wonder Girls Dance Contest. There were so many good videos; it’s great to know that so many people worked hard for WG. Good luck to all the entries!

Had a chance to talk to JYP today. He’s also seen a lot of the entries and it made him really happy that so many people have entered. Since you guys put him a good mood, he’s upping the prizes. The Grand Prize winners, you won’t just be meeting with the Wonder Girls but you’ll also be meeting with JYP and 2PM.

JYP offered other stuff for the winners as well which I’ll announce tomorrow. I need to double check something first.

There seems to be some confusion about whether or not 2PM is going to perform at the upcoming JYP Tour. The story is that they were not originally scheduled to perform and were only going to make an appearance. That changed within the last couple of weeks. Now, they will be performing at least one song. Same for J-Lim and G-Soul, they’ll be performing too. More »

I don’t know if you guys have caught the theme we’ve been using but contest #1 uses video and contest #2 uses blogs. This contest #3 uses photos and artwork. That makes a trifecta of user generated content. The Wonder Girls series of contest is about rewarding you Wonderful fans for creating media that will help set the stage for the eventual Wonder Girls American debut. The reward of course being personal autographed items from the Wonder Girls themselves, the most valued gifts any fan could receive. More »

When it came to filming “So Hot,” JYP and the Wonder Girls were on it: without even giving time for the “Tell Me” virus to subside, the Wonder Girls kicked out their decidedly hot, new hit. Guided by their boosting popularity and with only one hit single under their belts, they spun out their new sensation with a fervor that matched the “Tell Me” craze.
