From Finalfantasy14players: During Day 2 of the New York Comic Con, I was fortunate enough to sit down with Sage Sundi (Global Online Producer at Square Enix) and Yasu Kurosawa (North American Online Producer at Square Enix). We went through a lot of different topics about various rumors - PVP, summons, airships, XBOX 360 version - and addressed some of the main complaints about the game - UI, anima regen rate, storyline, etc. The most important thing I gather from talking to them was that they listen to a lot of feedback from players and that Final Fantasy 14 should be enjoyed at a well-moderated pace. They want you to stop and smell the roses once in awhile or rather stop and marvel at all the various unique details in the game. Onto the interview: More »

From Wirebot:

I just wanted make a quick comment about the insane number of flashbacks Final Fantasy XIII has and wanted to ask if anyone else was feeling my pain? I am in absolute love with the storyline, but I can’t help but think it could have been told in more creative ways than the obscene amounts of flashbacks that appear every 20- 30 paces Lightening takes. For most of us here, this week has been epic for the release of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIII. I’m not even much of a gamer and I know this much. From Wirebot:

Final Fantasy XIII utilizes an Active Time Battle system for combat. We’ve seen version of this battle system in Final Fantasy VII: Advent children and also in plenty of non-Squre-Enix titles like this years PS3 exclusive White Knight Chronicles. The ultimate question here is, whether or not the ATB battle system works better than the traditional turn based combat from the past. What are your thoughts? More »

The Last Airbender teaser for the Super Bowl is out and it looks surprisingly awesome! You get a taste of each bending style (Earth, Fire, Air, Water). My doubts about the movie have gone down a notch. Hopefully this isn’t one of those trailers where they show all the good stuff and when you watch the actual movie there’s nothing left to enjoy. Let’s hope M. Night Shyamalan directs this right! More »
