Okay, okay. So it’s not a real anime body pillow that’s walking around but rather some random person with an anime pillow case over their body. The video is still amusing (yet disturbing) to watch. More »

For most of us here, this week has been epic for the release of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIII. I’m not even much of a gamer and I know this much. I also know that despite the title, FF XIII is more fantasy than it is final. This week we’d like to make your fantasy come true by giving away a copy of Final Fantasy XIII. More »

From Ziggytek: NPD reports that for the first time in several years, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 has earned first place in the monthly gaming console sales rankings. The 360 moved 422,000 units. Meanwhile, over in Japan, Sony’s PSP go continues to be a disaster, with 3-month sales totals of only 17,618 handhelds. More »
It seems our fears have come true and the Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII will indeed be a crippled one. The Xbox version only runs at 1024×576 with 2xAA while the PS3 version runs at 1280×720 2x msaa. It is far from optimized to be a perfect port, and many compromises have been made. More »

From Wirebot:
Growing up I can remember 1, maybe 2, really great games coming out every month. I rarely felt that I was missing much when my parents refused to buy me multiple $50 games a month. Boy, am I lucky I am not growing up in today’s crowded 3 console market or I would only get to play a quarter of the great games that are getting released on a monthly basis. Within the last 2 months, well over 10 A+ games have been released across platforms, the majority of them being cross platform and a couple of them paired with peripherals that escalate the price to over $100 a pop. My question is, how is everyone collecting funds to support their favorite obsession? I’m selling text books, re-selling free curb alerts posted on craigslist, and trading in more games than I should to GameStop. More »

I was able to watch an episode of the Halo animation. I don’t have an Xbox but someone on Youtube uploaded the episode “The Babysitter” done by Studio 4C. More »

The time is close to Halloween, and game developers have hurried to create some of their most gruesome work to date. Here are some newest games that received glowing reviews, or just seem too cool to pass up. More »

From Ziggytek: FINALLY! After about a week of rumors, Microsoft is finally going to drop the prices on their Xbox 360 gaming consoles. Tomorrow is the official day, and honestly, I’m a little excited. I’ve had experience with both consoles. I opted for the PS3 after my first and only Xbox 360 had the “Ring of Death” but with a lower price point, it may be something I may want again. As for the price drops, the entry-level arcade will still be $200, Elite (black edition) will drop $100 to $300 (from $400), and the Pro will go down $50 to $250 (from $300). More »

Even though the economy has been pretty bad, things are pretty good here for Ningin and our parent company. So we’re looking to do some expansion. One immediate expansion that we have in mind is a new gaming site which we hope to launch in the next couple of weeks. We’re going to have both paid blogger positions and a couple of internships which won’t be paid. More info after the jump. More »
